Learn the basics or take a refresher course on the essentials of oil painting.  This class will focus on value, color, composition, understanding the materials, and a variety of painting techniques.

Schedule: Fridays, 4-5 PM

This class is for children ages 8-12, who are interested in learning how to draw realistically. Students will learn basic concepts about creating form, value, perspective, symmetry, line, measuring and use of materials. We will first learn how to create basic shapes and then how to turn that knowledge into more complicated images such as animals and people and things from their environment.

Schedule: Thursdays, 1:00-3:30 pm

Class is for individuals who have some experience in oil painting but would like to learn more about materials and working in a realistic style with traditional techniques.

Session I and II will focus on learning to draw while you paint. While using the still life as a model we will discuss traditional measuring techniques, improving observational skills, understanding relationships between objects, negative space and how to keep control of your composition. Demonstration and one on one instruction will be provided during each session. Students may also work on independent projects with one on one instruction.
